Emergency services have launched an evacuation protocol at Torrevieja University Hospital after a fire broke out on the second floor of the building.
The Alicante Provincial Firefighters Consortium received the emergency alert at 12:09 pm today, 22nd May, prompting an immediate response to the healthcare facility. As a safety precaution, emergency teams ordered the complete evacuation of the hospital’s second floor while working to bring the situation under control.

A total of five firefighting crews from the nearby Torrevieja and Orihuela stations were quickly deployed to the scene to extinguish the flames and handle the ventilation of the affected area. Units from the Local Police and Guardia Civil also rushed to the hospital grounds to assist with the unfolding emergency operation.

According to initial reports from emergency services, no injuries have been recorded, and the intervention remains ongoing. Health authorities and local municipal officials are closely monitoring the situation to determine the exact cause of the fire and to assess any potential damage to the hospital infrastructure or disruptions to patient care.
