Ricardo Isaias Regalado Ferrandez, a student from the Colegio La Purisima in Torrevieja, has achieved the highest score in the compulsory phase of the University Access Test (PAU) in the Valencian Community, scoring an outstanding 9.8 out of 10. The exceptional result means he has secured the necessary grades to pursue his dream of studying a Degree in Medicine.
The student from Torrevieja explained that his decision to enter the medical field is a deeply personal choice, intended to pay tribute to his late father, who had previously worked in the same healthcare profession. By entering this field, he aims to honour his father’s memory and follow the professional path he once walked.
Reflecting on his academic success, the young man highlighted the dedication required to reach the top spot across the region, noting that there was a great deal of effort and sacrifice behind his final grade. He described the moment he received his results as highly emotional, both for himself and for his family and friends who supported him throughout his studies.
Looking ahead to his future academic journey, he plans to enrol at the Miguel Hernandez University of Elche (UMH) to complete his medical training. He advised future students who will face the university entrance examinations next year to begin preparing as early as possible to avoid distractions, while also emphasising the importance of taking scheduled rest breaks rather than overworking themselves during intensive study periods.
