The Guardia Civil are investigating the deaths of a woman and one of her daughters, who were allegedly killed by the father in the municipality of Alicante. The suspect has been hospitalised with knife wounds alongside another of his daughters following the incident in the Cañada del Fenollar district.
Emergency services received an alert via the 112 emergency number at around 19:40 yesterday, Thursday 2nd June. Dispatched patrols discovered the bodies of the two deceased women at the scene, as well as the two injured individuals, who were subsequently transferred to a hospital.
According to sources from the investigation, it was the surviving daughter who raised the alarm by calling 112. When officers arrived at the family home, they found the two deceased victims inside, along with the alleged perpetrator and the injured daughter.
The Guardia Civil have arrested the father, and both he and the daughter who alerted emergency services remain under hospital care suffering from stab wounds. Investigators are treating the case as a suspected incident of gender-based violence.
All members of the family are of Spanish nationality. Official details state that the mother was born in 1971, the deceased daughter was born in 2005, and the father was born in 1973. The exact age of the surviving daughter has not been confirmed.
Sources have indicated that there is no prior record of domestic abuse between the alleged attacker and the deceased woman within the Viogén gender violence tracking system. The investigation remains open.
