The Ministry of Health has created a total of 14 positions for Nursing Assistant Technicians (TCAE) at the Vega Baja University Hospital in Orihuela, which will be incorporated into the structural staff of the hospital centre.
The new professionals will be hired in the coming days following the procedure established in the health regulations through the Temporary Employment Lists of the Ministry of Health. After assessing the healthcare needs, the management of the Orihuela Health Department will assign these professionals to the busiest units, with the aim of strengthening patient care and continuing to guarantee quality healthcare.
Nursing Assistants play a fundamental role in the daily care of patients. Their duties include basic care, support with activities of daily living, collaboration with nursing staff, and accompanying patients and their families, making a decisive contribution to the humanisation, safety, and continuity of care.
This staff reinforcement comes to cover the growing healthcare demand of the Vega Baja University Hospital, a reference centre for a population of more than 183,000 people in a region characterised by high population density and population growth. Furthermore, the hospital expansion works are scheduled to be completed by the end of this year, an action that will increase the centre’s healthcare area by 40% and will allow for continued adaptation of human and material resources to the current and future needs of the population.
