The Real Club Nautico Torrevieja commemorated the 60th anniversary of its foundation on Saturday evening, 4th July, with an emotional gala. The event brought together members, authorities, former presidents, representatives of the city’s social fabric and guests to pay tribute to its founding members and those who made the birth of the organisation possible in 1966.
The event was presided over by the Mayor of Torrevieja, Eduardo Dolon, accompanied by the president of the Real Club Nautico Torrevieja, Carlos Carmona; the manager of the entity, Carlos Torrado; members of the Board of Directors and a wide representation of Torrevieja society, who wished to accompany the club on such a significant date.
The club’s lounges hosted an evening filled with emotion, marked by the reunion between generations of members, shared memories and the pride of belonging to an entity that has managed to evolve while keeping intact the values that inspired its birth.

The night continued with a fellowship dinner in which members and guests shared memories, experiences and anecdotes from six decades of history by the sea. The reception of the attendees was entertained by the elegant clarinet performance of Francisco J. Garres, whose performance provided the perfect prelude to a night of celebration and recognition.
The secretary of the club, Jose Gimenez, opened the event by welcoming the attendees and recalling the legacy of those who laid the foundations of an institution that continues to grow with the same enthusiasm as its early days. The RCNT has consolidated itself as a space open to culture, solidarity and coexistence, hosting exhibitions, concerts, conferences, literary presentations, charity meetings and numerous initiatives promoted by local associations and groups for decades.
Next, the president of the Real Club Nautico Torrevieja, Carlos Carmona Gil, spoke and took a journey through the history of the organisation.
