Healthcare staff have saved the life of a 12-year-old girl who was drowning in a swimming pool in Alcoy, Alicante, according to the Emergency Information and Coordination Centre (CICU).
The alert was received at around 7:20 pm yesterday, 8th July,, reporting the incident. The 12-year-old girl had been taken out of the water and members of the public were performing cardiac massage on her.
The CICU mobilised a SAMU urgent medical assistance unit. Upon arrival, the medical team stabilised the young girl, and she was transferred to the Hospital of Alcoy showing symptoms of drowning.
