A special security deployment has been activated by the National Police to bolster safety across the beaches of Elche throughout the summer season. The operation combines foot and vehicle patrols on the ground with aerial surveillance conducted by the Aerial Unit of the National Police based in Alicante using drones.
The drones conduct surveillance flights along the coastline, transmitting live footage in real time to officers on the ground. This visual intelligence enables quick response times and immediate intervention if any offences or incidents occur along the shore. By combining technology with a visible physical presence, officers aim to strengthen security for both residents and holidaymakers visiting the coast.
The main aim of the operation is to prevent common summer crimes, specifically thefts of personal items left on the beach and break-ins targeting vehicles parked near coastal areas. Consequently, officers are focusing their presence on busy beach locations and surrounding car parks.
The National Police advise visitors not to leave personal belongings unattended and to avoid bringing high-value items to the beach. Members of the public are also reminded to report any suspicious activity immediately by calling 091 or contacting staff at designated police stations and posts.
