The Juntos Avanzamos Playa de San Juan Residents’ Association has expressed deep concern regarding an ongoing issue that has been occurring for more than a month and a half on the streets of the neighbourhood. The situation has become particularly noticeable during the summer season, a period when the area sees a large influx of both visitors and residents.
Over recent weeks, an individual has been repeatedly seen walking half-naked and barefoot directly along the carriageway, obstructing traffic while failing to observe road safety regulations or the presence of vehicles. Although the man has not shown violent or aggressive behaviour so far, his conduct breaches basic standards of road safety and community coexistence.
The neighbourhood association highlighted that despite police and social services attending to the man and questioning him on several occasions, the issue remains unresolved. Representatives from the association noted that many local residents have expressed their alarm, questioning how it is possible for the individual to remain in such conditions without effective intervention after so much time.
The situation is further complicated as the man refuses to speak, making direct engagement difficult. In light of this, the residents’ association has requested the urgent involvement of the relevant public authorities to find a comprehensive solution. They stress that action is needed both to safeguard road safety and community living in the neighbourhood, as well as to ensure the individual receives dignified and effective care.
