Orihuela Town Hall’s Equality Department, led by Agustina Rodríguez, and the First Vice-Presidency and Regional Ministry of Housing, Employment, Youth and Equality of the Generalitat Valenciana have organised an information session to highlight the resources available to women who are victims of violence. The event will take place on Thursday, 3rd September, at 11:30 am in the Multi-purpose Room of the María Moliner Municipal Library in Orihuela.
During the session, details will be provided regarding the various care, protection and guidance services provided by the Generalitat Valenciana. These include Women’s Centres, residential facilities, comprehensive care services, the Alba Programme, specialised centres for victims of sexual violence, and 24-hour telephone helplines.
Agustina Rodríguez emphasised how vital it is for these services to be widely understood by potential victims, their support networks, and professionals working in direct contact with them. She noted that having clear information can be decisive in allowing a woman to know where to turn, receive assistance, and begin the process of leaving a violent situation. The councillor for equality added that tackling violence against women requires the involvement of the whole of society, and that public administrations have a duty to make existing resources accessible so no woman feels alone when in need of help.
The event is aimed at members of the public, professionals, social entities, and anyone interested in learning about the existing care mechanisms and access routes for each service. The activity is jointly organised by the Generalitat Valenciana and the Equality Department of Orihuela Town Hall.
