Officers from the Local Police in Rojales have arrested two individuals after being alerted to suspicious activity at a property in the Ciudad Quesada residential area.
The incident took place on 2nd August following a call from a local neighbour. The report coincided with the celebration of the local area festivities. Upon arriving at the scene, officers caught a man in the middle of allegedly unloading equipment and material designed for an indoor marijuana plantation.
When the police arrived, two other individuals attempted to escape on foot. They ignored commands from the officers but were caught shortly afterwards. Despite showing physical resistance, they were subdued and placed under arrest.
As a result of the police response, two people were detained on suspicion of offenses against public health. One of the individuals also faces charges for resisting and disobeying law enforcement officers. Police fully identified a third person at the scene, and investigations remain ongoing to establish their potential involvement in the operation.
Officers seized a variety of equipment allegedly intended for setting up an indoor marijuana crop. All confiscated material, along with the two arrested suspects and official statements, were handed over to the Guardia Civil Main Station in Almoradí, which is continuing with the investigation to clarify the full circumstances.
The Local Police of Rojales expressed particular gratitude for the assistance of the public, emphasizing that citizen cooperation is vital for identifying suspicious activity and ensuring a swift police response.
