National Police officers in Elche have dismantled a drug sales point operating out of a residential property, following crucial information provided by local residents. The investigation culminated in the arrest of a 65-year-old man, who has since been remanded in custody by judicial order.
The police operation resulted in the seizure of 895 grams of cocaine, six grams of hashish, 170 euro in cash in small notes, and a set of precision scales.
The investigation began after officers received multiple reports and complaints from local residents warning of a potential drug sales point operating within a house. According to these initial reports, people frequently visited the property to purchase illegal substances.
Following the initial tip-offs, investigators launched enquiries to verify the claims. Early police actions identified the suspect allegedly responsible for the operation, and subsequent surveillance carried out by officers confirmed the evidence that had initiated the investigation.
During surveillance operations, officers discovered the precise method used to conduct sales. National Police reported that buyers gained access to the garage of the property, where they exchanged cash for narcotics inside. Conducting transactions inside the garage kept operations out of sight from the street, making detection from public roads difficult.
Once investigators gathered sufficient evidence to confirm that drug sales were taking place from the residence, they requested a search warrant from the judicial authority.
Upon receiving judicial authorization, National Police executed the raid and arrested the 65-year-old suspect on suspicion of committing an offence against public health.
