The Guardia Civil has arrested a man in Monovar on suspicion of breaking into a country house within the municipality. The operation led to the recovery of three out of four stolen motorbikes, alongside various tools and domestic belongings.
The investigation, named Operation ‘Sotom Saj’, was launched by the Investigation Department of the Sax post after a report was filed by the victim. The owner stated that unknown individuals had gained access to the property by forcing open a window, stealing tools, electrical appliances, terrace furniture, and several motorbikes.
A few days later, two of the stolen motorbikes were spotted listed for sale on a second-hand marketplace application. Officers arranged a meeting with the seller, which enabled them to identify and arrest the man offering the vehicles. They recovered one of the motorbikes at the scene, confirming its frame number matched the one reported stolen.
Following the arrest, officers conducted a search of the suspect’s residence. Inside the property, they located power tools, small appliances, a helmet, and an electric scooter, among other items linked to the burglary.
Subsequent enquiries led to the discovery of two further stolen motorbikes near the location of the arrest, bringing the total number of recovered vehicles to three out of four.
The arrested man was subsequently released, and the case files regarding the suspected burglary have been forwarded to the duty section of the Civil and Instruction Tribunal of Instancia in Novelda. All recovered items, including the motorbikes and household goods, have been returned to their rightful owner.
