A small boat carrying seven migrants arrived at midday on a beach in the urban area of Santa Pola.
The makeshift vessel, which measured around three metres in length and was fitted with an outboard motor, reached Santa Pola del Este beach at 12.28 pm. The arrival occurred yesterday, Sunday 30th August, while dozens of holidaymakers and bathers were present on the strand.
According to sources, the individuals on board were all male, of Algerian origin, and it is believed that at least one may be a minor. Upon reaching the shore, the group fled along the seafront promenade towards the town centre, where they were intercepted by security forces.
