A 70-year-old man has died on Saturday, 29th August, at a beach in Dénia after accidentally striking his head against rocks.
The Emergency Information and Coordination Centre (CICU) received an alert at 12:42 pm, promptly dispatching a SAMU intensive care ambulance unit to the scene.
However, the bather had already gone into cardiorespiratory arrest following the impact to his head. Medical crews performed resuscitation manoeuvres, but the man was pronounced dead at the site of the incident.
A medicalised helicopter was also dispatched to El Trampolí beach in the Alicante municipality, though it ultimately did not land.
