The Guardia Civil have arrested three people for their alleged involvement in selling drugs from two properties in the Alicante towns of Daya Vieja and Formentera del Segura.
The suspects—two men aged 34 and 53, and a 29-year-old woman—face charges of crimes against public health, money laundering, and membership of a criminal group.
The investigation was initiated by the Investigation Area of the Guardamar del Segura Main Post after officers learnt about a potential narcotics sale point in the Vega Baja area. Enquiries subsequently established that two separate addresses were allegedly being used to store and distribute the illicit substances.
Once officers identified the suspect individuals and located both properties, they carried out simultaneous searches at the targeted addresses. The operation was conducted with support from officers based at the Guardamar del Segura Main Post, the Citizen Security Unit (Usecic) of the Torrevieja Company, and the Reserve and Security Group of the Valencia Command.
During the searches, officers seized 575 grams of marijuana, 22 synthetic drug pills, and various other illegal substances, including cocaine, MDMA, and hashish, alongside approximately 3,000 euro in cash.
Law enforcement personnel also confiscated four replica handguns, a large machete, and three mid-to-high-range vehicles allegedly used in connection with the illicit operation. Furthermore, officers seized numerous GPS beacons, two frequency jammers, and a drone from one of the residences, which investigators also link to the group’s activities.
Following the searches, the three individuals were taken into custody. They were later placed at the disposal of the Duty Instruction Section of the Orihuela Court of First Instance, which ordered their release with provisional measures.
According to the Guardia Civil, the operation successfully dismantled two drug distribution points in Vega Baja, removing the seized substances from the market just as they were ready for sale.
