La Finca Golf has secured its position among the country’s elite courses after being ranked 13th in Spain by the specialist publication Golf Digest. This achievement confirms the course’s standing for the second consecutive edition and establishes it as the highest-ranked golf course across the province of Alicante.
The national recognition comes amidst a period of high sporting activity for the venue. Across July and August, La Finca Golf alongside Villamartín Golf staged four qualifying rounds of the VII Circuito La Finca Resort, drawing a total of 402 amateur competitors and recording 751 departures.
The amateur qualifying stage began on 17 and 18 July at La Finca Golf with 183 players, followed by two stages at Villamartín Golf on 7 and 8 August with 202 participants, and 14 and 15 August with 186 entrants. The preliminary phase concluded back at La Finca Golf on 28 and 29 August with 180 competitors.
A total of 45 players have now qualified to compete in the grand final, scheduled to take place over 36 holes on 12 and 13 December at La Finca Golf. Finalists earned their places based on category results from the qualifiers, alongside a Regularity Award granted to golfers who contested all four qualifying events without having previously secured a spot.
Alongside its sporting calendar, the resort continues to develop its facilities and services. Recent improvements include a complete refurbishment of the pro shop at La Finca Golf, designed to enhance player amenities before and after rounds. Additionally, the resort has joined the R&A as a Sustainable Agronomy Venue, incorporating independent, science-based advisory services and modern technology to support sustainable course management and playing performance.
Situated on the Costa Blanca in the south of the province of Alicante, La Finca Resort encompasses accommodation, gastronomy, wellness, and sport, offering year-round tournament conditions across both La Finca Golf and Villamartín Golf.
