The city of Orihuela will host a Charity Congress in Police Operations and Tactics on September 30th, October 1st, and October 2nd, bringing together security force professionals from various parts of Spain.
Organised by the Local Police of Orihuela and the National Union of Chiefs and Commanders of Local Police of the Valencian Community (UNIJEMPOL), the event has a strong charitable purpose. All funds raised from registration fees will go directly to the Antonio Sequeros Special Education School in Orihuela. The registration donation is set at 35 euro per participant.
The Councillor for Citizen Security, Mónica Pastor, stated that the meeting will bring together professionals from security forces across the country, alongside specialised companies and entities in training, equipment, and police technology, as well as instructors from different police and military bodies.
The congress will kick off on Wednesday, September 30th, at the Pedro Terol Auditorium in La Lonja. Following the opening ceremony, organisers will present the work of UNIJEMPOL and the Antonio Sequeros School, alongside scheduled workshops.
The presentation block will feature Fermín Bonet, chief superintendent of the Local Police of Petrer, who will discuss the importance of local police in citizen security. Inspector Antonio Mira from the Local Police of Elche will deliver a lecture on the use of force in police interventions. Psychologist Teresa Marín Salinas will analyse stress management in critical situations, while agent and drone pilot Francisco Albero from the Local Police of Benidorm will present the usefulness of drone units in high-risk operations.
Practical workshops will take place in the afternoons at the Orihuela Local Police Headquarters. Attendees can receive training on handling the ASP expandable baton, firearm retention, and tactical medical procedures, including haemorrhage control and casualty evacuation techniques.
