The Spanish Agency for Food Safety and Nutrition has issued an alert directed at individuals with a peanut allergy regarding the commercialisation of an ice cream originating from Spain, where the presence of this allergen is not correctly indicated on the labelling.
The affected product is identified on the base of the container as banana and brownie flavour ice cream, although the contents are actually peanut ice cream, as correctly indicated on the lid.
The agency insists that the warning exclusively affects people who are allergic to peanuts. For the rest of the population, consumption of the product poses no risk.

What the agency recommends
As a precautionary measure, the agency recommends that anyone with a peanut allergy who has this product at home should not consume it.
The information has also been transferred to verify the withdrawal of the affected units from commercialisation channels.
The agency stresses that the product does not represent any danger for those who do not have a peanut allergy.
