A grey and grizzly La Siesta early morning did not dull or dampen the spirits of those who attended the La Siesta Church Centre on Sun 18 May 14 when four members of the Chaplaincy of St Peter and St Paul were ‘Confirmed’ in what was a joyous and delightful Ceremony. The sun duly shone towards the end of the Service!
The confirmands were Colin Anderson (La Siesta), Thomas Gladwell (Los Balcones), Sandra Harbut (Lago Jardin) and Michael Walker (La Marina (San Fulgencio)). Supporting members of each of their congregationspresented the candidates for Confirmation.
The Officiating Celebrant at the Confirmation Service was Honorary Assistant Bishop – The Right Reverend Michael Colclough who was assisted by the Chaplain Revd Christopher Scargill and many other members of the Chaplaincy’s Ministry Team.
The La Siesta Church centre congregation was swelled to near capacity by Chaplaincy members.
All the Candidates were graduates of the Chaplaincy’s ALPHA Course held during the Autumn months of 2013 with some additional tutorial instruction from the Chaplain and in preparation for the actual Service.
After the ceremony refreshments were provided by Chaplaincy members where Bishop Michael took the opportunity to informally meet the confirmands and their supporters and many other members of the Chaplaincy’s Church Centre congregations.
An occasion not to be forgotten by many
