UD BENIGANIM – 3 CD TORREVIEJA – 1
Following on from last weeks thrashing at Cullera, Torry once again failed to deliver on the road.
Against lowly newly promoted Beniganim, hopes were high, but they fell flat on 5 mins, following Sanchez’s conversion from a corner. Worse was to follow on 19 mins, as the hosts made it 2-0 through Rafeta.
Torry’s Rafa Gomez did well soon after, but his shot was kept out by the keepers outstretched legs. At this stage, Torry were playing well, examples of which were when Ruben shot just wide, then from Eddie’s cross, which Burguillos just failed to get a connection on. Unfortunately, just before half time, Rafate notched up a brace, giving his side a 3-0 advantage.
At the start of the 2nd half, Steve came on for Rafa Gomez, Adrian for Martin, and Ferran for Burguillos, in a bid to shake up the mix. The changes certainly seemed to do the trick, as confidence grew in attacking options. Steve headed over, then having won a penalty, Adrian dusted himself off, dispatching the spot kick in style.
Ferran struck a beauty from 20 yards, which just missed the target, but Torry couldn’t get themselves on the scoresheet again.
Both Adrian and Ferran shone, in a much improved 2nd half, but Torry must stop giving opponents a head start. Bookings for Rafa Gomez, Eddy, Jorge and Ferran, push them further to unwanted suspensions.
Torry team: OSCAR, RUBEN, EDDY, MARTIN, ALEXIS, JORGE, BORJA, BURGUILLAS, CARRASCO, RAFA, BERNA
Due to resurfacing at Vicente Garcia Stadium, Torry take on Paterna at Nelson Mendela Stadium, in their next fixture. Make a note of Sun 23 Nov, ko 5pm, for what promises to be an exciting div 3 encounter.
