The provincial president of the Partido Popular, José Císcar, is reaching out to European residents, in the hope of gaining favour before the elections in May.
With the deadline looming at the end of this month when registration for your right to vote expires, it is crucial that those intending to have their voice heard in the elections ensure that they are on the voters list.
A video has been produced in English, German and Spanish, considered the three principle languages of local residents, that explains how to obtain the opportunity to vote in the May elections, and explains how to register your willingness to vote before the 30th of December.
The provincial president has also promoted the creation of a blog, explaining to European residents of the province how the PP are creating initiatives to improve the communities where they reside as, “active members of the social, economic and cultural life of the Province of Alicante and citizens of Valencia”.
Císcar also defends the full integration of the PP in each municipality and argues that these initiatives entwine with measures of participation, transparency and good governance approved for democratic regeneration.
These initiatives were introduced to mayors, spokespeople and local presidents of about 40 municipalities in which greater implementation of European residents in the Province of Alicante is considered crucial in the run up to the elections, during a meeting held at the Provincial Headquarters of the PP this week.
More information, as well as the video, is available on the website, www.alicantepp.es, although the English section is not particularly obvious at first. In order to see the video, click on “Actualidad” on the menu bar, then on “Noticias”, and by scrolling through you will see the title “How to vote in the Municipal Election if you are eu citizens living in Alicante”, along with an introductory paragraph in Spanish, but it is from here you can click the link marked “Video”, which takes you then to YouTube to view it.
