TORREVIEJA TO BECOME QUALIFICATION CENTRE FOR RUSSIAN UNIVERSITIES

The Mayor with Sergey Kravtsov, the President of the Federal Agency for Monitoring, Education and Science in Russia

The mayor of Torrevieja, Eduardo Dolon, met with Sergey Kravtsov last Tuesday, the President of the Federal Agency for Monitoring, Education and Science in Russia, who was in the area primarily to meet with the city’s Russian residents, of which there are currently 5,300 listed on the electoral register.

He was also in the area to discuss matters education, with a view to establishing Torrevieja as the only city in Spain where Russian students can study and take examinations which will secure them the necessary certified qualifications to enter university in Russia.

Kravtskov said that he was extremely impress by the education system in Spain and he had chosen to establish the city of Torrevieja as a ‘centre of excellence’ from a long list of candidates.

After the meeting, the party visited the Permanent School of Adults (EPA) in Torrevieja, where they were received by its president, Joaquin Canovas.

After inspecting the facilities he said that the school seems most likely to be the centre chosen to conduct these certification exams for those students wishing to enrol in Russian Universities.
