This year is the 4th Formentera del Segura 7’s, on 27 June, with Costa Cobras RFC helping out with the running of it, also a big thank you to our new sponsors, Venture Fleet Auto-Technician and Body Shop, who have taken over the sponsorship for the tournament trophies.
The club itself have also got a team involved in the tournament and over the last couple of weeks have gone from 6 players to 12 players joining the club of various nationalities, making the club a true international one.
The men’s teams for the tournament will be split into two leagues with teams from Costa Cobras RFC, Albacete, Torrevieja Tigers, Lorca, Elche, Squalos (San Javier), Villena and Los Zorros playing, we also have ladies teams playing as well.
The tournament will be kicking off at 10.00 at the Polideportivo Formentera del Segura with the third half in Bar Pepito in the town. So come on down and see some local rugby and support this great sport.
We have now started training on Guardamar beach on Tuesday at 19.00 down in front of the restaurants, so all are welcome to come along and join in.
All ages, gender and nationalities are welcome, from beginners to experienced players, the more the merrier, as we are based on the true traditional ethics of the sport. So come along and join the newest rugby club on the Costa Blanca.
Also team bonding after training in the nearest bar for a drink and chat, just how rugby should be. Training still takes place on Monday and Wednesday from 18.00-19.30 for the juniors, while the seniors will be training from 20.00-21.30 at Daya Vieja sports ground.
So get those boots out and come on down to Daya Vieja sports ground and join in the rugby revolution of 2015, with the Rugby World Cup to look forward to as well, get into this great sport.
