Twenty eight people have been injured, four of them seriously, when a Spanish coach crashed into a low bridge as it was travelling in France.

The incident occurred at 05:15 on Sunday morning when the coach was near the French city of La Madeleine, in the Lille region.

The coach was carrying students from Bilbao to Amsterdam. There were 59 passengers on board, along with 2 drivers, who were both tested for alcohol and proved negative at the scene.
The roof of the coach was completely ripped off in the collision.
