Criticism over poor school transport was amongst the key issues raised in a meeting last Friday between recently-appointed Alicante regional education director Tudi Torró and Orihuela mayor, Emilio Bascuñana. Sports facilities at secondary schools and the funding of the adult education centre at IES Tháder were some of the other topics that were discussed. Meanwhile a fresh protest took place last week over the lack of school buses to and from the Playas de Orihuela school.
