
Two cyclists were injured on Wednesday afternoon after being hit by a car the Pilar de la Horadada area.
The emergency services were alerted to the incident at around 15:10 when they were telephoned for assistance on the CV-941.
A paramedic unit (SAMU) and basic life support ambulance (SVB) were sent to the scene where they found a 46 year old cyclist having suffered a trauma to one leg, and a second, aged 40, with multiple injuries.
Both were transferred to the University Hospital of Torrevieja whilst the Guardia Civil took over the scene and took a statement from the driver whilst they investigate.
Meanwhile, a Dolores resident had a lucky escape from a spectacular crash on the road between Daya Nueva and Daya Vieja on Tuesday night, when the driver lost control of the vehicle on the CV-901 after passing the Daya Nueva cemetery roundabout.
The car jumped the crash barrier and landed on its side in a ditch on a curve. The 20-year-old driver was unhurt and an investigation is being carried out into the circumstances surrounding this incident.
