The Mayor of Torrevieja, José Manuel Dolón, has reported that three officers o of the Operational Reinforcement Group (G.R.O.) of the Local Police of Torrevieja have been awarded the Cross of Police Merit with Blue Distinction by the Generalitat Valenciana for their intervention in a bank robbery.
The officers intervened in a bank office in Torrevieja, when a man, apparently armed with a pistol, kept the bank manager at gunpoint then tried to escape with the money in October, 2017.
The awards have been granted to the Inspector S-04, and the agents A-165 and I-085 who managed to free the manager, an action that is worthy of the aforementioned distinction awarded for “directing or executing successfully a service of extraordinary difficulty or importance in which relevant professional or civic qualities have been demonstrated”.
