“These new vehicles will allow us to offer a better urban transport service to users,” said Manzanares. Each bus has 49 seats, as well as a double ramp, with the aim of facilitating access for people with reduced mobility, “a crucial aspect for this government team that we wanted to promote,” said Manzanares.

The new vehicles will also have a real-time locator via GPS, which will allow information about the next stop inside the bus to be included, and also have internal LED lighting as well as WIFI.

The investment of the two new vehicles exceeds 500,000 euro and are in operation from today.

Javier Manzanares thanked the company in charge of offering the service, and “the willingness they have shown to this City Council to work hand in hand to improve the service provided in Torrevieja.” In this regard, he announced that the new buses “are just part of a package of improvements that will come in the short term and that will further enhance the urban transport of the city, and, “the important thing here is the users, so they should be focused on each and every one of our efforts”.

For his part, the operations manager of the Avanza Group, Luis González, stressed that “these new buses are the result of our commitment to the city.” In this sense, he assures that “it is just one more step in the process of improving the service that we want to be developed progressively”.
