The Directorate General of Traffic (DGT) ran a special campaign last week, from February 9th to 15th, to keep an eye on and trucks and buses. The Local Police of Dénia also took part in this campaign in the municipal territory.
During those seven days, authorities checked a total of 73 passenger and heavy goods vehicles. As a result of the inspections, 20 reports were made about different safety and paperwork infractions.
Nine violations of vehicle inspections were found, two for driving without the right permission, three for not securely securing goods, and four for not using a seatbelt. Also, one ticket was given for driving without a Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) and another for driving with an expired licence.
The goal of these kinds of campaigns is to make roads safer for cars that could cause very major accidents because of their size and weight or because they are carrying passengers. The monitoring looks at the vehicles’ technical condition, paperwork, and whether or not the drivers are following the rules.
The Local Police want everyone to remember that they should call 112 in an emergency and that they are still working to make the city safer for people to get around.
