The Monóvar Town Council has given the Local Police two new drones to use. This is meant to make the police more effective and make the town safer. The Department of Police and Citizen Security pushed for the purchase, which will allow for more monitoring and support equipment in different police operations.
One of the devices bought has a thermal camera, speakers for sending messages in real time, and a high-precision picture-capturing system, among other high-tech capabilities. These features will make it useful in challenging scenarios such as search and rescue operations, emergency management, monitoring large-scale events, or assisting other security and emergency services.
The second drone is more practical and will be used for everyday police work. It can monitor the city, manage traffic, monitor public areas, and assist in crime prevention and safety measures.
The city paid for this equipment totally with its own money. The council wants to keep improving the Local Police’s material resources and move forward with modernising the service.
M. Amparo Maestre, the Councillor for Police and Citizen Security, said that using new technologies is very important for making police work more successful. She said that the City Council’s goal is to keep giving cops “all the tools they need to do their jobs as well as possible, which will make everyone safer.”
With this money, the Monóvar City Council keeps moving forward, with its promise to come up with new ideas and improve the tools it uses to keep citizens safe.
