A 37-year-old man in Santa Pola (Alicante) has been arrested by the National Police on charges of drug trafficking and unlawful firearm possession. It is purported that he supplied narcotics to other traffickers in the vicinity. The investigation was initiated by the Narcotics Unit of the Elche Police Station in response to information regarding a potential drug-dealing location in a residence in Santa Pola.
The police force, in a press release, claimed that a man purportedly supplied drugs on a medium scale to both individual users and other dealers from that point. The suspect was observed by officers making numerous trips throughout the province, primarily to the towns of Alicante, Elche, and Santa Pola, after several surveillance operations were conducted on various days. The suspect was observed to be taking numerous security precautions and attempting to obstruct the investigation. He allegedly conducted drug transactions from inside his vehicle and met with third parties during these excursions.
Following the collection of evidence implicating the alleged commission of a drug trafficking offence, investigators implemented an operation that culminated in the accused’s apprehension while operating his vehicle. Officers discovered a concealed compartment in the vehicle that contained three shipments of cocaine, each weighing 3.58 kilograms. Investigators obtained a warrant from the competent court to search his domicile subsequent to this discovery. In the course of the search, officers confiscated a revolver, a significant quantity of ammunition, approximately six kilograms of hashish, 1.85 grams of pink cocaine (also known as tusi), precision scales, various drug paraphernalia, and precursors for drug processing.
Additionally, they confiscated €5,620 in currency. Investigators also confiscated two high-end vehicles and a third vehicle, which the detainee is purportedly using to disseminate the drugs. The third vehicle is equipped with a concealed compartment that is used to transport the drugs, a term that is commonly used in police jargon. The pretrial detention of the detainee was ordered by the duty magistrate in Elche.
