British woman living in Alicante on trial for posting photos of her naked ex-husband on Facebook

Today, Wednesday, March 25th, the Alicante Court will hear the case of a 51-year-old British woman who resides in Xàbia. She is accused of disseminating intimate images of her ex-husband through her Facebook account.

The Prosecutor’s Office will propose a one-year prison sentence for her at the hearing, which will be conducted before the Tenth Section. The crime in question is the disclosure of secrets, which is considered a violation of privacy.

The indictment alleges that the woman published photographs in which her ex-husband, who is also a British national, was depicted in a state of undress. The prosecution maintains that she did so with the intention of significantly harming his reputation and privacy in the eyes of others.
