The lifeguard service at the six Blue Flag beaches of Villajoyosa will be operational now and until Thursday April 9th. The beaches of Centro, Torres, Varadero, Paradís, Bol Nou, and La Caleta are open from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
In addition to a jet ski and a rapid intervention vehicle, the service will be equipped with 15 qualified lifeguards, a captain, and a coordinator from the company Servitur Salvament, as well as other surveillance and rescue equipment. Additionally, they collaborate with the Local Police, Civil Protection, and emergency services to guarantee that any unforeseen circumstances are promptly and efficiently resolved.
Rosa Llorca, the Councillor for Tourism, and Carlos Soler, the Councillor for Beaches, joined Mayor Marcos Zaragoza in welcoming the new lifeguards. Marcos Zaragoza emphasised the “exceptional work you perform as professionals to guarantee the safety of our beaches and to ensure that residents and tourists can enjoy them with complete tranquillity during Holy Week.”
Villajoyosa prepares to greet both residents and tourists during the holiday season with its 13 beaches and the two Blue Trails of the Colada de la Costa and the Volta al Cantal, which will commence this Easter.
The municipality’s beaches, coves, coastal paths, and natural areas have been the subject of a series of renovations, maintenance, and improvements by the Department of Beaches. Maintenance of signage and safety equipment, improvements to access points, inspection of walkways, furniture, showers, and footbaths, removal of refuse and natural debris, and manual and mechanical sand cleaning have all been done on the beaches. In the same vein, signage repairs and cleaning have been implemented in natural areas and coastal paths that have been conferred the Blue Flag.
In the present day, the service will be further bolstered by a team of six operators who are dedicated to the continuous maintenance, cleaning, and refuse collection of the municipality’s beaches and coves.
Mayor Marcos Zaragoza declared that “we have prepared everything to ensure that both residents and tourists can enjoy the exceptional quality of our beaches and the impeccable services that ensure the safety and comfort of bathers.”
