The Guardamar del Segura City Council has put out to tender the service of installing and supplying material on a rental basis for the maritime buoyage of the municipality’s coastline. This contract is meant to set rules for how the beaches can be used and keep bathers safe during the summer.
The contract has a base bid price of €118,249.16, which includes taxes, and an anticipated value of €195,453.16. It will take two years to complete. Companies that want to bid can do so using the Public Sector Procurement Platform until April 16.
The service comprises providing, installing, maintaining, and then taking down buoys and markers that show where swimming is allowed, where vessels can enter and exit, and other sensitive places along the beach. The goal is to make sure that the varied uses of the beaches work together by keeping the area for swimmers apart from the areas for boating, water sports, or boat traffic.
The buoyage system needs to be set up by June 1st, which is when the bathing season begins, and it will be in place until October 31st, when it will be taken down. The winter navigation channel, on the other hand, will stay in place all year and will be regularly maintained to make sure it works properly.
The changes will affect all of Guardamar’s coastal areas, including the beaches of Els Tossals, dels Vivers, Babilònia, Centre, La Roqueta, El Moncaio, del Camp, and Les Ortigues. A line of buoys will be put up along the coast to mark the swimming area, and there will be several nautical channels for boats to come and go.
The deal also says that the war bunker on Els Tossals beach will be marked with a line of buoys that warn people and boats not to get too close.
The winning bidder will also be in charge of the system’s regular and corrective maintenance, which includes replacing broken or missing parts and doing regular inspections during the busy season to make sure the buoyage is always safe for beachgoers.
The open approach is used to decide who wins the prize. The improvements made by the companies are the most important factor, making up 70% of the final score. The price will only make up 30% of the score.
