Torrevieja gives a contract to fix three sports courts. Construcciones Hermanos Espín SL has been given the job of fixing up and repairing many outdoor sports courts around the city by the Torrevieja City Council’s Governing Board. The job will cost €640,211. This project fits with the city’s goal of making local sports facilities better and making sure they are used in the safest, most accessible, and most environmentally friendly way possible.
The planned actions will allow for the complete rehabilitation of four facilities: the La Mata multi-sports court (Perfecta Rodríguez Park), the Cabo Cervera sports court, and the Los Balcones multi-sports courts (Plaza Reina de la Sal). These facilities have a number of structural and maintenance issues, such as broken metal fences, outdated lighting, and construction elements that are in poor condition. This makes a comprehensive action necessary to ensure the safety of users and the proper provision of the sports service.
The project includes fixing up the outdoor sports courts, which means updating the playing surfaces, making them easier to get to, and updating the equipment and enclosures to make sure the facilities are safer and more useful for current users.
The key things that are planned are:
- Taking down parts that are falling apart, like the perimeter walls, existing paving, and stands
- Putting up new fences and enclosures when the old ones are in bad shape – Complete overhaul of the playing surfaces
- Putting down sports paint that won’t slip and has official markings
- Making access points easier to get to and changing them to fit – installing LED sports projectors for good lighting
These changes will make the facilities safer to use and encourage people to play sports both during the day and at night. They will also use less energy for lighting.
The Torrevieja City Council is continuing its programme of developing municipal sports facilities, especially those in the neighbourhoods, which are important places for playing sports and having fun in a healthy way.
Renovating these sports courts will give inhabitants modern, easy-to-use venues to play sports and meet up with friends, and it will encourage people to live healthy lives.
The main planned actions are to fix three sports fields and make them into meeting places for sports.
