In the town of Dénia in Alicante, National Police officers arrested two men, ages 34 and 56, after taking apart a “indoor” marijuana plantation that was set up inside a single-family home in a rural region.
The police department said that one of the people who was arrested had a legitimate European arrest warrant from Lithuania for drug trafficking and having weapons without permission. The National Police started looking into the case after they heard that there might be a marijuana grow operation inside a house in a rural location.
The Judicial Police officers from the Denia Police Station who were in charge of the case asked questions to find out who owned the property. It turned out that a man had been renting it for the previous three years. Investigators checked the tenant’s identity documents and identified problems with the one he gave them. In the end, it turned out to be a fake.
They say that this is a frequent way to stop police from taking action in incidents like these. As part of the ongoing investigation, the agents found evidence of an unusual consumption in the neighbourhood that came from the residence being probed. This is typical of marijuana farms that are set up inside homes.
Drugs packed in a hoover hidden in the false ceiling After gathering all the evidence, the investigators, with permission from the court, went into the property and searched it. They found a marijuana farm inside.
