As part of an investigation into numerous vehicle break-ins near a hospital and the city’s courthouse, the National Police have arrested a 66-year-old man in Elche for his purported involvement in the receipt of stolen goods. The stolen items were subsequently sold or exchanged for narcotics, as per the investigation.
The Judicial Police Brigade of the Elche police station conducted an investigation that concentrated on a sequence of robberies that occurred from vehicles that were parked in close proximity to one another. The perpetrators allegedly adhered to a consistent pattern: they shattered the rear or side windows to steal small items that could be readily sold on the black market, such as sunglasses, mobile phone chargers, V16 emergency beacons, or cash.
The afternoon and evening were the primary times for the robberies. The officers are under the impression that the perpetrators were individuals with substance addiction issues who were in need of immediate cash in order to purchase drugs.

The exchange of products for drugs or lodging
Officers suspected that a man was the intended recipient of the stolen products during the course of the investigation. The police have reported that the perpetrators of the robberies provided him with the stolen items in exchange for small amounts of drugs or the opportunity to stay the night at the house under investigation.
Furthermore, the investigators were able to identify one of the alleged perpetrators of the robberies, a man with a history of property offences and a plethora of police records. He was suspected of working with two other individuals.
Throughout the surveillance of the residence under investigation, officers observed a consistent stream of individuals. Many of them were purportedly consistent substance users. The investigation revealed that these individuals entered the residence with items and departed shortly thereafter without them.
Mobile phones, vehicle keys, and reported documents were discovered
The officers requested a court order to examine the residence in accordance with the evidence they had collected. The goal was to recover stolen products, identify potential new victims, locate evidence, and further the identification of the perpetrators of the robberies.
Police seized a variety of items that were purportedly of illicit origin during the search. These items included two monitors, several USB storage devices, an external hard drive, and personal documents belonging to various individuals that had already been reported stolen to the police. Additionally, the investigation revealed that two mobile phones had been registered in the detainee’s name the day after they were stolen.
The individual who was arrested has already been presented to the duty magistrate in Elche following the conclusion of the police investigation.
