A total of six companies have submitted bids for the contract tendered by Alcoy City Council to manage the removal of abandoned vehicles within the municipality. The contract focuses on the handling of vehicles that meet the legal criteria to be treated as solid urban waste, covering their decontamination and official permanent removal from the traffic registry.
The service will apply to vehicles found at the municipal pound as well as those located anywhere else within the Alcoy town boundaries. The successful bidder will carry out these tasks upon formal request from the Local Police.
The six firms competing for the contract are Desballestament i Reciclatge SL, Gestión Integral de Vehículos Cordobés SL, Auto Desguaces El Choque, Auto Desguace Luque SL, Desguace Cortes SL, and Desguace Mora SL.
The contract is set for an initial duration of two years. However, this term could potentially be doubled if the available extensions are utilised. This move by the local administration aims to streamline the process of clearing abandoned cars and motorbikes, ensuring that the streets of Alcoy remain clear and that hazardous waste is processed correctly.
