The arrest took place during a police operation carried out in Benidorm and La Nucía. The suspect was featured in the “Most Wanted” campaign, an international search initiative launched by British authorities to locate high-profile criminals linked to organised gangs.

The operation targeted a network involved in drug trafficking and document fraud. In addition to the primary suspect, three other individuals were arrested. During searches, officers seized various narcotics, 4,000 euro in cash, forged documents, and two vehicles used by the group.

The investigation began in November 2025 after a manager at a parcel delivery business in Benidorm raised the alarm. A suitcase containing 16 kilograms of hashish, destined for the United Kingdom, was discovered on the premises. Initial enquiries identified a woman who had used false documentation to send the package.

Investigators further established that she had been accompanied to the shop by another person and received logistical support from two men who helped transport the suitcase. As the case progressed, officers identified the individuals involved and discovered that one of them was a fugitive wanted by British authorities for drug trafficking offences. An international arrest warrant had been issued for him at the end of 2025.
The operation was led by the Organised Crime and Anti-Drug Team (EDOA) of the Guardia Civil in Alicante, with support from the Fugitive Search Team of the Central Operational Unit (UCO). The investigation also involved close collaboration with the British National Crime Agency (NCA), which helped confirm the identity of the main suspect and coordinate the police response.

The timing of the arrest coincided with the official launch of the latest “Most Wanted” campaign in Alicante, highlighting the continued efforts by the Guardia Civil and British law enforcement to track down criminals hiding on the Costa Blanca.
