The home improvement, renovation, decoration, and garden retailer Bauhaus allocated 3.6 million euro to benefits and incentives for its workforce in Spain during 2025. The company, which is currently developing a new store in Torrevieja , aims to boost internal benefits and consolidate a workplace culture based on stability, internal promotion, and professional recognition.
This investment covers a workforce of more than 1,600 employees in Spain. According to the company, the funding responds to a commitment to continuously improve working conditions, recognition, and professional development opportunities within a stable and growing environment.
As part of this strategy, Bauhaus recently introduced new internal benefits, including a Training Plus and a Store Support Plus, which complement existing incentives such as an Languages Plus and a Holiday Plus. These initiatives are designed to recognise specialisation, operational support, and internal training within its establishments.
The company also maintains an active policy for internal promotion. During 2025, more than 50 people were promoted within the organisation. Currently, more than 90% of the workforce holds a permanent contract, and one in five employees has been with the company for over 10 years. Additionally, employee turnover dropped by 30% compared to the previous year.
In terms of workplace diversity, the workforce is currently made up of 51% women and 49% men, representing more than 38 nationalities, with an average age of 38. Furthermore, workplace accidents were reduced by 15% through new safety protocols managed by its own prevention service.
Lola Vilches, Head of Human Resources for Bauhaus Spain, stated that company growth goes hand in hand with the development and recognition of the team, aiming to offer a stable environment with real opportunities for growth and measures that contribute to wellbeing.
This focus on personnel coincides with the company’s expansion plans in Spain. Alongside the upcoming new establishment in Torrevieja, these projects include the opening of the Meridiana store in Barcelona and the expansion of the centre in Gavà. Bauhaus currently operates 13 stores in Spain alongside its online platform.
