A judge has released a man who was detained following a fatal confrontation during an argument in Denia.
The incident took place in a car park near the Palovi housing estate in the Les Deveses area of Denia. Long-standing coexistence disputes between two neighbours escalated into a physical altercation. A 68-year-old Belgian national reportedly pushed his 43-year-old Spanish neighbour, causing him to fall backwards and suffer a fatal blow to the neck.
The suspect himself notified the emergency services about the incident and admitted to his involvement. Following a reconstruction of the events and the removal of the body, National Police officers held the man at the Denia police station. Following his appearance before a judge, the resident has now been released from custody while the investigation continues.
