The Valencian Community welcomed 2.79 million trips from Spanish residents during the first quarter of 2026, representing 8.4% of the national total. With this figure, the Valencian Community established itself as the fourth most visited destination in the country, trailing behind Andalucia, Catalonia, and Castile and Leon.
The data comes from the Resident Tourism Survey (ETR/FAMILITUR) published by the National Statistics Institute (INE), which recorded a total of 33.2 million trips made by Spanish residents between January and March.
The Valencian Community registered exactly 2,792,162 trips during the first three months of the year, accounting for 8.4% of all travel undertaken by residents both inside and outside the country. Only Andalucia, with 5.52 million trips; Catalonia, with 3.72 million; and Castile and Leon, with 3.05 million, surpassed the Valencian figures.

Travellers generated a total of 8.47 million overnight stays in the Valencian Community during the quarter, with an average duration of three nights per trip.
At a national level, the total number of trips by residents fell by 4.4% compared to the first quarter of 2025, dropping to 33.2 million. However, the total expenditure associated with these trips increased by 2.5%, reaching 11,453.7 million euro.
Andalucia was the most visited community with 16.6% of the trips, followed by Catalonia (11.2%) and Castile and Leon (9.2%), leaving the Valencian Community to secure the fourth position nationally.
