Elche Local Police reinforce beach surveillance to tackle illegal street vending

The Local Police are maintaining an active surveillance operation on the beaches this summer to combat unauthorised street vending and the distribution of counterfeit goods.

In one of their latest interventions, officers seized various items that were being sold illegally on the beach in Arenales del Sol, Elche.

The Local Police shared images on their social media networks to remind the public that these types of products offer no guarantee of quality or safety, as they have not passed the required health and safety controls before being sold to the public.

Furthermore, they warned that this practice directly harms local trade and recalled that unauthorised street vending on public roads is penalised under municipal ordinances. These controls will be intensified on our beaches and promenades during the upcoming summer months in order to protect consumers.
