A violent robbery at a restaurant in the Ociopía shopping centre in Orihuela was resolved in just a few hours on Friday, 3rd July, thanks to effective coordination between the Orihuela Local Police and the National Police.
During the early hours, the establishment alerted emergency services to an armed robbery. Upon arrival, officers obtained a description of the suspect from staff members. The investigation was significantly aided by security footage from both the restaurant and the shopping centre, which captured clear images of the individual loitering on the premises before the incident.
Following an analysis of this video evidence, local police officers were able to identify the individual and provide his address. This prompt identification enabled the National Police to continue the investigation in a highly coordinated manner.
Officers from both forces subsequently attended the suspect’s residence to conduct necessary procedures. The individual was taken into custody and has been implicated in other similar violent robberies that took place on the same day. The rapid resolution of the case highlights the successful collaboration between the Orihuela Local Police and the National Police.
