Alicante-Elche Miguel Hernández Airport has reached an unprecedented historic milestone by welcoming a total of 10,061,138 passengers during the first six months of the year. This impressive figure represents a 9.3% growth compared to the same period of the previous year, solidifying its status as one of the fastest-growing hubs in Spain.
In terms of flight operations, the airport managed 63,978 flights between January and June, marking a 9.5% increase compared to 2025.
The record-breaking momentum was heavily supported by a highly successful June, which closed with 2,123,528 passengers passing through the terminal, representing a 10.5% increase compared to June of last year.
International traffic remains the primary driver of growth for the airport. In June, international travellers accounted for 1,880,424 passengers, representing an 11.3% year-on-year increase. Meanwhile, the domestic market reached 242,702 passengers, up by 5.6% compared to June 2025.
Among the international visitors, the United Kingdom continues to lead by a wide margin, contributing more than 700,000 travellers. This was followed by Germany with nearly 128,000 passengers, and the Netherlands with more than 112,000.
These figures confirm the incredibly strong performance of the tourism season in the Alicante province, supported by robust international demand and strengthened domestic connections.
