The regulated parking service, known as the ORA, will be completely free of charge in the afternoons in Elche, which started yesterday, Wednesday 15th July. Drivers using the blue zone will only be required to pay for parking between 9:00 and 13:00 from Monday to Friday. Furthermore, the parking scheme will be entirely free during the whole day on Saturdays.
This special modification to the service hours will remain in place until 31st July. It builds upon the established practice from previous years, where the service is completely free during both mornings and afternoons throughout the entire month of August.
This initiative is being implemented in collaboration with the municipal company Pimesa. According to details provided, the adjustment will not lead to an increase in operational service costs, although it will result in a reduction in revenue compared to previous years due to the extended periods of free parking.
