The National Police have dismantled an itinerant criminal group accused of committing five violent robberies in inhabited homes across Alicante and Marbella. The arrested individuals posed as authority figures by using vests, caps, flashing blue lights and other police equipment.
Investigators have linked the organisation to two violent robberies committed in Alicante and three other related incidents in Marbella. During the break-ins, the suspects allegedly used real firearms and vehicles with cloned registration plates to make their identification more difficult.
The value of the goods stolen during the various raids is estimated to be around 400,000 euro.
Investigation began after two robberies in Alicante
The police operation began in December 2025, following two violent robberies at homes in Alicante. Police investigations successfully identified the alleged perpetrators and linked them to two other robberies committed months earlier in Marbella, where the group had logistical support.
Tracking the suspects proved particularly complex due to their high mobility and the periods they spent outside Spain.
Ultimately, officers located the five members of the group in Marbella whilst they were travelling in a van, allegedly preparing to commit another robbery.
Five weapons, silencers and 31,500 euro in cash
At the time of the arrests, the police seized five handguns, tactical silencers, a large amount of ammunition and various police equipment, including vests, clothing, caps, handcuffs and flashing lights.
Officers also found 31,500 euro in cash, GPS beacons, frequency jammers, cable ties and cloned registration plates.
Subsequently, four search warrants were executed at properties in Marbella and Fuengirola. During these searches, six high-end vehicles and numerous items suspected of being used to prepare and carry out the raids were seized.

The investigation remains open
The five detainees face charges of robbery with violence, illegal possession of weapons, forgery of documents, assault, offences against privacy, usurpation of public functions and membership of a criminal group.
The investigation remains active, and the police have requested two European Arrest Warrants to locate another two suspected members of the organisation who are currently outside Spain.
