The Department of Health at Orihuela Council, led by Irene Celdrán, has approved the 2026 subsidy call with a total fund of 45,000 euro. The initiative aims to support non-profit associations and organisations in the municipality that develop programmes and activities in the fields of health and animal protection.
These grants will be awarded on a competitive basis and are designed to finance projects carried out between 1st October 2025 and 30th September 2026. This financial support helps to strengthen the essential work that these organisations perform for the benefit of local citizens and animal welfare.
The Councillor for Health, Irene Celdrán, highlighted that “the community network plays an essential role in health promotion, prevention, supporting people with different pathologies, and protecting animals. With this call, we want to continue supporting their work and make it easier for them to continue developing projects with a major social impact.”
The amount of each individual subsidy will be determined according to the points scored by each submitted project, in line with the criteria established in the regulatory framework. The call allows for individual grants that can reach up to 9,000 euro, depending on the specific budget and evaluation of each initiative.
Interested associations will have a period of 30 calendar days, starting from the working day following the publication of the notice in the Official Gazette of the Province of Alicante (BOP), to submit their applications. Requests must be processed through the Electronic Office of Orihuela Council, where all necessary documentation and forms are available.
Irene Celdrán has encouraged all eligible entities to apply, stressing that “from the Department of Health, we remain committed to collaborating with the associations that, through their effort and commitment, help to improve the quality of life of our neighbours and promote a healthier city that is committed to animal protection.”
