A woman in her fifties was arrested on Sunday, 26th July, by the Dénia Local Police after causing an altercation that began in a hospitality establishment and ended in the middle of the road, leading to traffic jams on Avenida Joan Fuster.
The incident occurred in the afternoon at the roundabout located at the intersection of this avenue and Calle Diana. According to several eyewitnesses, the event began following an argument in a local bar. The woman reportedly began verbally abusing employees and customers while throwing terrace furniture. Several chairs and tables ended up in the street, and some reached the traffic lanes.
The situation escalated when the woman entered the roundabout and stood in the middle of the road, blocking traffic. Her presence and the scattered furniture caused traffic jams and forced drivers to stop. The alerts mobilised a patrol from the Dénia Local Police, who went to the scene to try to control the incident and restore traffic flow.
According to testimonies gathered by the media outlet, the woman maintained an agitated attitude during the intervention, hurled insults at the officers, and hit the police vehicle. The police managed to control the situation and proceeded to arrest her after she displayed an aggressive attitude and did not heed their instructions. Once the street furniture was removed from the road and the operation was completed, traffic gradually returned to normal on Avenida Joan Fuster.
