A 23-year-old man was injured yesterday morning, Friday 31st July, after getting trapped on top of an access gate to a home in the Senioles area of Javea. The accident required intervention from firefighters, who had to cut through part of the metal structure to free him before he was taken to hospital.
The incident occurred at around 6:00 am. According to municipal sources, the young man, who was staying at a cabin in the area, attempted to gain entry to the property over the top of a sliding gate. During the attempt, he became caught when one of the spear-shaped metal points topping the fence impaled his arm.
Crews from the Provincial Firefighters Consortium, along with Local Police and medical services, attended the scene. Firefighters cut the ironwork of the gate to release the young man without worsening the injuries caused by the accident.
Once rescued, the casualty was attended to by emergency medical personnel at the scene. Subsequently, a SAMU emergency medical service unit transferred him to a hospital to receive medical assistance.
